Micro-School Academy

Now Enrolling K-6th Grade

We are opening a micro school, for families wanting something different! Our school will take learners back to a one room school house feel of mixed ages and grades all working together. Our school has some main components that learners will focus on: Core Skills/Curriculum, Group Projects, Independent Projects, Socratic Method Discussions, PE, and Field Exploration, science, technology, art and so much more! We are already in session a offering free tours, and drop in trials.

CURIOSITY

Encourage children to nurture their natural curiosity and develop a love for learning. Inspire them to ask questions, explore new ideas, and discover the world around them. Foster an environment that sparks their imagination and encourages a lifelong thirst for knowledge.

COLLABORATION

Not only does teamwork help build communication and leadership skills, but it also gives children different perspectives and outlooks on situations. Through team-based activities, children may be tasked with critical thinking and examining situations through lenses they may have never thought of before!

CREATIVITY

Foster a spirit of creativity and innovation in children. Encourage them to think outside the box, express themselves through various forms of art, and find unique solutions to problems. Provide opportunities for imaginative play, arts and crafts, and open-ended projects that allow them to explore their creative potential.

LEADERSHIP

Leadership development at ARA transcends age barriers. Mixed-age groups create opportunities for students to assume roles of responsibility and mentorship. As younger students look up to their older peers, the emulation sparks leadership qualities in older students, who actively participate in guiding, teaching, and supporting their younger peers. ARA's unique environment empowers students to grasp that leadership is not solely about authority; it's about service, guidance, and inspiration. These experiences cultivate well-rounded individuals who possess strong communication skills and a natural flair for leadership, preparing them not just for academic success but for life beyond the classroom. Adventure Recreation Academy shapes students who are poised to lead and communicate with confidence and empathy.

PERSONALIZATION

One of the cornerstones of micro-schooling is personalization. It's about recognizing that every child is unique and tailoring education to fit them, not the other way around. ARA embraces this principle wholeheartedly. Here, we understand that each young mind comes with its own set of strengths, interests, and challenges.

Our Lead Elementary Coach, Andrea Ivey, works tirelessly to craft personalized learning plans for every student. It's about meeting them exactly where they are and guiding them toward their full potential. With small class sizes and mixed-age groups, our students have the freedom to explore subjects that genuinely excite them. It's an environment where learning is not a one-size-fits-all approach but an individualized journey.

IMPROVED OUTCOMES

At ARA, we're not just about personalized learning; we're about results. Studies have consistently shown that micro-schooling leads to improved academic outcomes. Smaller class sizes mean more one-on-one time with educators, allowing students to dive deeper into subjects they're passionate about.

But it's not just about grades; it's about preparing students for life. With an emphasis on problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills, ARA equips students with the tools they need to thrive in a complex world.

Andrea Ivey

Meet Andrea Ivey, our Lead Elementary Coach, whose passion for teaching and love for working with children has been a guiding force in her journey. As a former gymnast, Andrea's innate connection with young minds ignited her pursuit of a career in education. She began her college journey in Liberal Studies but swiftly found her true calling in Recreation Administration. Realizing that traditional classroom settings and standardized testing limited her ability to teach creatively, Andrea embraced an out-of-the-box approach to education. Her conviction that learning should transcend physical boundaries led her to prioritize hands-on and project-based learning, nurturing a deep commitment to instilling practical life skills in her students. With Andrea at the helm, our micro school is inspired by her dedication to fostering a dynamic and location-independent learning environment, where every child can thrive and embark on a journey of discovery and growth.
