Coach Chelsee is a proud Petaluma native who grew up a competitive gymnast. After retiring from the sport, Chelsee began to not only coach gymnastics, but also train adults. Chelsee earned a nationally recognized group training certification through FitBody Bootcamp and set out to motivate others. Along the way, she came into Adventure Recreation to play and never left. Today, Chelsee continues to practice her skills and earn new ones all while passionately improving her coaching style. If you’re in the right place at the right time you might run into Coach Chelsee kayaking on the Petaluma river or bopping around town in her bright yellow SUV, named Clara.
Coach Chase has lived his life upside down since childhood. Growing up tumbling in Bakersfield, CA and Boone County Kentucky, his passion for the sport was reignited when he started coaching at the age of 15 and became USAG certified at 18. After moving to Sonoma County for college, Chase stumbled upon Adventure Recreation and the rest was history. Today Coach Chase has a B.A. in Pure Mathematics from Sonoma State University and is an active member of the Petaluma community. You will likely bump into him downtown enjoying a scoop of vegan ice cream from LaLa’s or roller skating through the east side singing at the top of his lungs.
Coach Andrea has been involved in the sport of gymnastics for 33 years, 20 of which she has spent coaching. With a dream to own a gym since she was 9 years old, Andrea attended Humboldt State University and earned a degree in Recreation Administration. Then, in 2010 the first Adventure Recreation was born in Ukiah, CA as a mobile climbing wall. Over the course of 2 years, the company grew into a full gymnasium. Then in 2017 Andrea, her family, and Adventure Recreation moved to Petaluma, CA, and found their home. Today, Coach Andrea enjoys creating a community of athletes and their families. If you know Coach Andrea, you know she is always ready to have a laugh and get silly with her athletes, daughter, son, and friends. Be on the lookout for Andrea riding across Sonoma State’s Campus with her kids or enjoying live music at Brewster’s.
